Earth Day Poem

Here is a poem that my boys and I wrote for Earth Day. I hope you enjoy.

Today is Earth Day so we want to say,

If we don’t act now there will be a price to pay.

*

There is so much to do, I hope you can see,

So here is a list to start off easy.

*

We should plant more trees,

And save the bees.

Shower quicker,

And don’t drop litter.

*

Don’t buy new,

Try to reuse.

Instead of meat,

Have a vegetable treat.

*

If you’re not going far,

Please don’t use the car.

When it is not night,

Turn out the light.

*

Join an environmental team,

And make sure your recycling is clean.

As for plastic,

It is really not that fantastic.

*

Tell the oil companies to stop,

If the ice caps melt there is no big mop.

Get your energy from the wind, sun and sea,

There really is some great new technology.

*

The time is now,

To make an Earth Day vow.

If we look after nature it can make the world greater.

We absolutely cannot leave this any later.
